The Hamilton Bulldogs begin the 2013/14 regular season Friday night when they host the St. John’s IceCaps.
CHML’s coverage begins with the Pregame Show at 7pm, puck drop is at 7:30pm.
The team will also host a free street party before the game, beginning at 5 o’clock.
It means Bay Street will be closed from Market Street to York Boulevard.
The season opener will be Martin St. Pierre’s first game a Bulldogs captain.
The 30-year-old St. Pierre is in his 10th season of pro hockey, and joins the likes of Jason Ward, Benoit Gratton and Ajay Baines to wear the “C” for Hamilton.
The Bulldogs will be trying to improve on their last place record from last season, in which the club went 29-41-1-and-5, for 64 points.
Although the Dogs did have a winning home record, 18-17-1-and-2.
The IceCaps started their season last weekend, splitting a pair of home games against Providence.
St. John’s will play Toronto on Saturday.
Speaking of Saturday, the Bulldogs will host the defending Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins.
CHML’s Pregame Show starts at 6:30pm with the opening faceoff at 7 o’clock.
The Griffins have also played two regular season games, beating Rochester and then losing to the Marlies.
