The McMaster Marauders improved their record to 4-3, with a 28-5 win at Laurier.
Quarterback Marshall Ferguson completed 13-29 passes for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns, which gives him 20 TD passes on the season, breaking the previous team record of 19, set by Kyle Quinlan in 2010 and 2012.
The touchdown passes were 12 yards to Mike DiCroce and 37 yards to Tyler Loveday, who had four catches in all, for 76 yards.
Josh Vanderweerd also had 4 catches for 68 yards.
McMaster’s Wayne Moore carried 15 times for 81 yards and one touchdown.
Tyler Crapigna connected on two field goals, of 40 and 24 yards, and also added a rouge single.
Defensively, Aram Eisho had 12 tackles, while Nick Shortill made his return to the line-up after missing the last three games with an injury.
Shortill had 5.5 tackles.
Scott Martin had an interception for Mac, whose defence stopped Laurier on three different possessions, when the Hawks had the ball first and goal from the Mac one yard line.
The Hawks finish the season at 1-7, while the Marauders finish out their regular season, Saturday, October 19, when they visit the Carlton Ravens.
