Rob MacIsaac is leaving Mohawk College to lead Hamilton Health Sciences.
In a memo that was emailed to Mohawk’s faculty and staff, MacIsaac says he will become the President and CEO of Hamilton Health as of February 1, 2014 and replace the outgoing Murray Martin.
The Mohawk College Board of Governors will meet next month to select a new president.
MacIsaac says in his email that he is “very happy with the progress he made” at Mohawk.
The former Mayor of Burlington and head of provincial transportation agency Metrolinx, MacIsaac became the seventh President of Mohawk College on February 1, 2009.
Under his leadership, Mohawk’s Fennell Avenue campus has undergone an 80-million dollar renovation and expansion project.
Martin was scheduled to retire as HHS President and CEO on December 31, 2012, before extending his stay until January 31, 2014.
Martin will serve as Special Advisor to the Board for three months, until April 30, 2014, during the transition to MacIsaac.
