Powerful winds are getting the blame for a death in the Niagara Region.
Police say a 56 year old woman from Port Colborne was killed at about 11 o’clock on Friday morning, when a tree fell on her vehicle as she was driving.
It happened on Fielden Avenue in Port Colborne, an area where electricity has also been knocked out by strong winds.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The woman had died of her injuries by the time emergency officials reached the scene.
Much of Southern Ontario, including Niagara, remains under a wind warning.
