The Bulldogs tried to make a comeback but lost 5-3 to Rochester.
The Amerks opened the scoring just 3:30 into the game as Mike Zigomanis slid the puck past Dustin Tokarski.
Before the end of the first period Rochester would add another one with Michael Blunden in the penalty box. The power play goal went to Matt Ellis at 17:36.
Penalties would hurt the Dogs again in the second period as Chad Ruhwedel scored his first of the season on the power play to give Rochester a 3-0 lead at 8:49.
Hamilton would finally get on the scoreboard when Sven Andrighetto scored his fourth of the season from Leblanc and Schiestel.
However not even a minute later Chad Ruhwedel would score his second of the game to make it 4-1 after 40 minutes.
Two minutes into the third frame the Bulldogs pull within 2 as Joonas Nattinen scored his first of the season from Beaulieu and Courtnall.
Louis Leblanc would make it a one goal game with a goal at 16:10 with the assist going to Macenauer.
The Amerks would add an empty netter to close out the scoring.
