A Hamilton councillor is joining the call to ban graphic banners from city overpasses.
Terry Whitehead says he’s received a flood of emails from people who say the graphic anti-abortion banners should be outlawed.
He hopes to strike a balance between freedom of expression and traffic safety.
Whitehead says while the group has every right to make their point, there are limits.
He’s suggesting the city’s sign bylaw can be tweaked to prohibit banners from being shown on bridges.
Whitehead hopes to have a notice of motion ready for next week’s council meeting.
