Hamilton police will hold their latest taxi cab safety forum Thursday night.
Officers will share safety information with taxi drivers, dispatchers, owners, brokers and even passengers.
Sergeant Barry Mungar says the most important thing cab drivers will learn is how to de-escalate a confrontation with a customer.
It runs from 6 to 8pm at the new Crime Prevention Centre at 460 Barton Street East.
Mungar says being a taxi cab driver is a dangerous job, pointing to a couple of serious assaults this year against cab drivers.
Anwar Sajad was the victim of a severe beating after picking up three people July 16 on the west mountain.
A 19-year-old man has been charged in that incident.
