The Hamilton Bulldogs’ losing streak has reached five.
Luke Adam scored two goals, including the winner just 19 seconds into the third period, as the Americans beat the Dogs 3-1 in Hamilton’s annual School Day Game.
The game featured more than 12-thousand fans for the 10am puck drop at Copps Coliseum, most of them enthusiastic elementary school students.
After Phil Varone opened the scoring 5:02 into the first period, Bulldogs rookie Sven Andrighetto tied the game at 1-1 just over nine minutes later.
It was his team leading seventh goal of the season.
Dustin Tokarski was called upon to make several dynamic saves to keep Hamilton in the hockey game.
He stopped 33 of 35 of the shots he faced, while Matt Hackett made 26 saves in the Amerks goal.

The Bulldogs will have another chance to get into the win column when they host the Lake Erie Monsters Friday night at 7:30 on CHML.
