A Niagara Falls man has been arrested after a stunt that looked like something out of a Dukes of Hazard episode.
At about 12:30 Saturday morning, a Niagara Police Officer noticed a Chevy Silverado driving erratically on Hartzel Road in St Catharines. When the officer attempted to stop the pick up truck, the driver sped up and refused to pull over.
After driving about 4 km through the city, the driver headed towards the Homer Bridge, which had lowered its safety arms as it prepared to rise for a ship.
The driver smashed through the arm, drove up the bridge and went airborne as it crashed through the safety arm on the other side.
Soon after, the driver was found hiding in some brush with the help of a K-9 unit. During the arrest the man suffered bite wounds to his leg.
35 year old Keith Sider was arrested and is facing numerous charges.
