Canada has added to the medal count and it’s a gold.
Canadian short-track speedskater Charles Hamelin has won a gold medal in the Men’s 1,500 metres at the Sochi Olympics.
Hamelin jumped from third to first in the last half of the race after going wide on a straightaway then cutting inside on a turn.
His gold in the 1,500 was a bit of a surprise given it’s not the 29-year-old’s best event.
He’s the defending champion in the 500 metres and the 5,000-metre relay.
