Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is taking the province to the polls.
Wynne met with Lt.-Gov. David Onley to ask him to dissolve the legislature.
The election will be held June 12th.
Wynne says it’s a choice between Liberal “safe hands or risky tactics” of the opposition parties.
Wynne’s announcement comes after NDP Leader Andrea Horwath announced that she has lost confidence in Kathleen Wynne and that her party will not support yesterday’s Ontario budget.
Horwath said she could not continue to prop up a government that plagued by scandal after scandal, and believes it’s time for voters to have their say.
Progressive Conservatives Leader Tim Hudak calls the New Democrats hypocritical for taking so long to decide to defeat the Liberals, something he says they should have done at least a year ago.
