Legendary Canadian author passes away

Canadian author Farley Mowat has died. His books sold more than 14 million copies. Mowat, born in Belleville, was 92.

He may have been best-known for his books on Canada’s North, like People of the Deer and Never Cry Wolf, which was made into a film and released in 1963.

  1. We have lost easily Canada’s greatest storyteller. His works were so easy to read and I learned more History from this man than any history teacher could have taught me. He has great Company on the other side. I’m sure Pierre Berton will be waiting with a glass of rum in his hand. Farewell, old friend.
