Ticats trim roster ahead of CFL deadline

CFL teams have made their final cuts ahead of the start of the regular season.

Teams had until 10pm Saturday to trim their rosters and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have made a series of roster moves.

The Ticats have finalized their roster ahead of the start of the CFL regular season.

Hamilton has released defensive backs Evan McCollough, Demetrice Morley and Korey Lindsey, quarterback Corey Robinson and offensive lineman D.J. Young.

Eight players have been placed on the Cats’ practice roster.

They are former McMaster defensive back Mike Daly, fellow DB James Rogers, running back Isi Sofele, fullback Isaac Dell, receivers LaMark Brown and Quincy McDuffie, offensive lineman Dominic Alford and defensive end Antonio Coleman.

Linebacker Christopher Johnson and defensive tackle Martin Pesek have been put on the suspended list.

Placed on the one game injured list, and not playing this Sunday in Regina, are receiver Andy Fantuz, running back Tavoy Moore, quarterback Stephen McGee, offensive lineman Joel Reinders, linebackers Abraham Kromah and Marcellus Bowman, defensive back Michael Coe, and defensive linemen Terrence Moore, Sam Scott and Brandon Thurmond.

Centre Mike Filer and defensive tackle Michael Atkinson have been placed on Hamilton’s six game injured list.

The Ticats visit the Roughriders Sunday night at 7pm Eastern.
