Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

It is a special day for local veterans who fought in the Korean War.

A monument was unveiled at Spencer Smith Park.

It is dedicated to the eight Canadian Naval Ships that served in Korea from 1950 to ’55, and the nine crew members of those ships that were either killed in action, lost at sea or died in service.

There will be a reception following the ceremony at the Halton Naval Veterans Association on Industrial Street.
