Skyway Bridge Accused Not In Court

The man charged with drunk driving in the crash that closed the  Toronto bound Burlington Skyway for four days over the Civic Long Weekend, intends to plead not guilty.

34 year old Sukvinder Singh Rai was not in court, but his lawyer, David Locke says  his client is taking the situation very seriously.

Locke says he’s just received disclosure from police and will now have a chance to review the full allegations.

Rai is charged with  one count of impaired driving and one of having a blood alcohol level over 80 milligrams.

His licence has been suspended for 90 days.

His next court date is October the 3rd.
