Everything went according to plan for the defending champions.
After watching last night’s Seahawks-Packers NFL season opener, I think we can all conclude that Seattle is still very good… and that Green Bay remains primarily a one man show.
The Hawks unfurled their first Super Bowl championship banner, then went out and stuffed the Pack 36-16.
Marshawn Lynch ran for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns, Russell Wilson threw 2 TD’s, and the Seahawks dominating defense did its thing.
3 sacks and a safety, a job well done for the defending champs.
As for Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers had an okay game, and that’s simply not good enough.
The Packers, who were barely above .500 last season, will have to rely on Rodgers and the offense to outscore their opponents this season because their defense isn’t elite, nowhere close.
And that task just got tougher, because Green Bay lost star running back Eddie Lacy to a concussion, as well as right tackle Bryan Bulaga to a knee injury last night.
It was a perfect start for the Seahawks.
While the Packers, like every other team that visits Seattle, have left battered and bruised.
