I can’t say that I’ve seen every second of every game in the 1st round of the NHL playoffs, but from what I’ve seen, wow.
Six series are done, two are still left to be decided.
The Capitals, Penguins, Lightning and Islanders are through to round 2 in the East.
The Stars and Sharks are still playing in the West, while the Hawks, Blues, Ducks and Predators continue to jostle in their respective series.
The biggest surprise so far has to be the Sharks dusting the Kings in 5 games.
There goes my Stanley Cup pick, and that of many others.
Just when you thought San Jose wouldn’t do anything, here come the Sharks.
Another great story in round 1 is the Islanders, who last night won their first playoff series since 1993 when John Tavares scored in double overtime as New York beat Florida 2-1.
To be honest, I didn’t think the Isles would get past the Panthers.
Was that the last time we’ll see Jaromir Jagr on the ice?
The 44 year old had just two assists in the six games.
We’ll have less games to watch as the rounds progress, but the games and series usually get better from here on in.
