Hamilton food share is rejoicing after receiving a major donation at a critical time.
The organization’s warehouse has received 9 thousand packages of multi-grain pasta.
That’s over 36 thousand servings for those going hungry in Hamilton.
Catelli pasta donated the shipment.
It’s part of the company’s goal to provide one million servings of pasta to group’s fighting hunger across the country.
Executive Director of Hamilton Food Share, Joanne Santucci says it has come at the right time.
“Kids usually get a meal at school, a snack time, that’s not going to happen during the summer”
“Kids are going to go a little more hungry than normal and I think this will go a long way to feeding those tiny little bellies.”
Santucci says the donation will go on to help 10 front line organizations in the Hamilton area.
