There is nothing that tests the true resilience of a family like a home renovation.
It does not matter whether you’re painting a room or building a wing, there is nothing simple about family displacement.
I feel for the families of Ft McMurray displaced by wild fires and think, my family can’t handle it when they don’t have access to a closet for 24 hours.
I don’t want to bore you with the details because frankly, it’s boring, and if my wife heard this it would only add to the living hell.
We are painting.
I have no problem with the chaos because I know, in the end, it will be worth it.
But some have a hard time not knowing where their shoes are every waking moment of the day.
When we see the ads for home improvement they never talk about this stuff, just that the paint is on sale.
The costs of family survival is much more.
I now know why.
No one wants to clean their sock drawer!… And now, we are forced to.
