More big changes being revealed about Hamilton’s health care future.
A report in the Hamilton Spectator says the Hamilton Health Sciences’ 20 year plan is to stop operating St. Peter’s Hospital and McMaster University Medical Centre.
A new hospital for women and children would be built near the Hamilton General and become part of its campus within the next 10 years.
The report also says day surgery is to be moved to Grimsby at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
The HHS proposal will now go to the Local Health Integration Network.
The province suggests Mac’s Medical Centre would most likely be given back to McMaster University in the next 10 to 12 years.
