A former Region of Halton Manager is facing eight criminal charges including fraud and municipal corruption after a year long investigation by Halton Police.
56 year old David Ohashi worked for the municipality for 16 years in Plant Capital and Engineering and included the awarding of maintenance and construction work.
The investigation was prompted by an anonymous tip and includes activity from November of 2010 to January of this year.
The accused was let go by the Region on January 21st of this year.
Ohashi is charged with Fraud under five thousand dollars, Use of a Forged Document, three counts of Municipal Corruption and three of Accepting Secret Commissions.
Halton Police say anyone with information on this case should call them or Crime Stoppers.
He is scheduled to appear in Milton Provincial Court on Tuesday September 13th.
