For the first time this summer, Environment Canada is saying the air quality in Hamilton will be poor.
The agency said in a special air quality statement, “possible high levels of air pollution are expected today. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon.”
Anyone with experiencing symptoms like coughing or throat irritation should consider staying away from strenuous outdoor activities until the statement is lifted.
Environment Canada warns that exposure to air pollution is a particular concern for people with breathing problems, a heart condition, children and the elderly.
