A Milton woman is under investigation by police after three children were left in a hot car just before seven last evening when the temperature was 32 degrees.
A concerned passerby noticed the children alone in the locked car, parked in full sunlight with the windows opened about three inches and the engine off.
The children ranged in age from four to 12.
Police were notified and they called an ambulance.
The children were checked out by paramedics and did not show signs of heat related illness.
About 11 minutes later, the mother emerged from the Milton store.
Halton police are checking surveillance video to see exactly how long the children were left on their own in the heat before making a decision about what charges may be laid against the 38 year old woman.
Police have issued a reminder that leaving children or pets inside a motor vehicle is not only gravely dangerous, but unlawful as well.
