The City of Hamilton’s public health division and Animal Services are responding to a rash of raccoon rabies cases in the area with a low cost clinic for pets.
Vaccinations will be offered to cats and dogs for 25 dollars on a first come, first served basis.
The city’s goal is vaccinate up to 500 pets this weekend with the help of ten local veterinarians.
This is the first city-sponsored low cost rabies clinic to be held in recent history.
Rabies microchipping, cat registration, and dog licences will be made available for an additional fee.
The clinic will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Gage park.
