In 1981, what is now known as CF Limeridge opened its doors to the community with anchor tenants KMart and Eatons.
35 years later it continues on as a major shopping destination with more than 160 stores.
General Manager, Liem Vu says the centre is donating 10 thousand dollars to the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton as a thank you to the community for being so loyal over the years.
“I have wonderful staff, some of my staff grew up with the Hamilton Boys and Girls club, it’s very personal.”
Mayor Fred Eisenberger says he see Lime Ridge as an iconic location that is part of Hamilton’s fabric.
“It’s the largest taxpayer we have so it certainly boosts our coffers each year in terms of our tax revenue.”
Adding, it employs twenty-five hundred people on a regular basis.
Vu says he wants to keep that momentum going.
Lime Ridge will continue working to provide a one stop shop location he says, with more big retailers to come as well as more options for entertainment in the coming years.
