An area woman and her two month old child are lucky to be alive and unharmed after a close call.
She was driving on Cockshutt Road in Townsend about noon Sunday when a pick up truck hauling grain passed by.
At that moment, a tarp and metal pole holding it flew off the pickup with the pole piercing the windshield of the car, impaling itself at the rear hatch.
It narrowly missed the driver and she was able to stop safely.
The baby, which was in a baby seat on the rear passenger side of the car, was also unharmed.
Norfolk OPP continue to investigate.
Charges are pending.
