The now infamous “pig lady” was charged at the scene of an incident where a truck carrying pigs rolled over in Burlington.
Halton police say it happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday when the truck lost control and flipped over at Appleby Line and Harvester Road.
The truck was carrying approximately 180 pigs. An estimated 40 of these are believed to have perished as a result of the incident.
No other vehicles were involved.
The 25-year old driver of the truck is being treated for minor injuries.
The pigs were being transported to Fearmans Pork Plant.
49-year old Anita Krajnc of Toronto is charged with obstructing police and breach of recognizance in connection. She was released on a promise to appear.
Krajnc is already on trial for giving water to slaughter-bound pigs in June 2015. She is facing up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine.
