Wow, what an opening.
The Blue Jays used the momentum from their wild card win on Tuesday to their advantage in Game 1 of the ALDS in Texas.
Tuesday against Baltimore was an extra innings nail biter, yesterday in Arlington was a laugher.
I loved watching Jose Bautista’s big three run homer in the 9th inning as boos rained down from the stands.
That was Jose’s sixth playoff home run in a Jays uniform, which ties him with the great Joe Carter for the most all-time in franchise history.
Despite his up and down season, Joey Bats is a proven playoff performer and is doing it again this year.
And I guess Marco Estrada’s back is feeling good, it must be, after his sensational outing on the mound.
Estrada has been money for Toronto in the post-season, and that’s what you need at this time of the year… your best players have to step up in these big games.
I don’t think anyone thought Game 1 would be that easy, and I still don’t think this series will be an easy one because the Rangers are not going to go away quietly.
But can Texas push back today against Toronto’s J.A. Happ, who won 20 games this season?
Cleveland beat 22 game winner Rick Porcello last night, so yes, anything is possible.
But this Jays team has it’s mojo going, and I don’t think the Rangers will corale them.
