I have great sympathy for the US Steel workers  who will receive layoff notices later this spring.

The fact that some of them didn’t see this coming  tells me that they were getting bad information from someone; it was  general knowledge that the 2012 economic picture was pretty glum.

But, as those workers come to grips with this reality, please do yourselves a favour, and don’t fall for the patronizing political rhetoric that has already started.

Don’t believe the politicians that say they’re fighting for you; they’re not.

They’re trying to grab headlines and create false hope.

Because you know, deep down inside, that no government is going to order these guys to make steel if there is no market to sell it.

And you know that no government is going to force these guys to sell the plant .

And, any City Council resolution , demanding answers , ...
